My go-to for getting in shape used to be long-distance running.
5 miles. 10 miles. 15 miles-plus.
It’s what I knew for decades. But some injuries — namely one to my lower back — now prevent me from running consistently over 10-15 minutes at a time.
When this first happened, I was totally bummed. How was I supposed to get in shape?
I was trapped in the mindset of “but this is the only thing I know.”
Well, that was B.S.
Now, I lift. I box. I do barefoot sprinting on the beach. And I’m in the best shape of my life.
If you’re a business owner, and you’re in a rut.
If you’re trapped in the mindset of “this is the only thing I know.”
You have to realize that it may be the only thing you’ve tried — but it’s certainly not the only way to achieve your outcomes.
Expand your frames of reference. Get outside help. Don’t be afraid to realize that the way you’ve always done things may not be the best way to do things.
Try it, and you may surprise yourself by getting into the best “business” shape of your life.
